Booking Policies

The rules of the road for booking and staying at an IslesAway property. Last updated May 2026.

1. Reservations

All reservations are confirmed in real time after successful payment and an automated background check. A confirmation email with your itinerary, address, and self-check-in code is sent immediately. If you do not receive it within 15 minutes, check your spam folder or contact us.

2. Eligibility

The primary guest must be at least 25 years old and present a valid government-issued photo ID upon request. IslesAway reserves the right to refuse a booking that appears intended for events, parties, or uses inconsistent with a residential vacation rental.

3. Payment

Payment is processed securely via Stripe. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. The full reservation amount is charged at the time of booking unless a payment-plan option is explicitly offered. All rates are quoted in USD and include the U.S. Virgin Islands accommodation tax (12.5%) and a cleaning fee.

4. Damage protection

A refundable damage deposit may be authorised on your card 72 hours before arrival and released within 7 days of check-out, provided no damage is reported. For longer or larger stays we may instead require a third-party damage-protection plan in lieu of a deposit.

5. Check-in & check-out

  • Check-in: 4:00 PM AST. Early check-in is sometimes available — please ask.
  • Check-out: 10:00 AM AST. Late check-out is sometimes available for a fee.
  • Self-check-in: A smart-lock code is emailed 24 hours before arrival.

6. House rules

  • No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property (interior or balcony).
  • No parties, events, or commercial filming without prior written consent.
  • Occupancy is limited to the number of guests on the reservation — no unregistered overnight guests.
  • Quiet hours are 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM in accordance with HOA rules.
  • Pool, beach access, and shared amenities are governed by the building's posted rules.

7. Guest responsibilities

Guests are responsible for treating the property with reasonable care, securing doors and windows when out, and reporting any damage or maintenance issues promptly. The lead guest accepts financial responsibility for the actions of all members of their party.

8. Force majeure

IslesAway is not liable for delays or non-performance caused by hurricanes, tropical storms, government orders, utility outages, or other circumstances outside our control. In such cases we will work with you to reschedule or issue a credit per our Cancellation Policy.

9. Changes to a reservation

Date changes are subject to availability and any difference in nightly rate. Requests should be made at least 14 days before arrival to maximise flexibility.
